The Wall Street Journal Online is looking for a Western Region Advertising Sales Director to lead our San Francisco and Los Angeles sales offices in the sale of online advertising. Responsible for the individual and team performance of 3 Account Executives and 2 Sales Coordinators, the successful candidate will have a track record of excellence in all areas of sales management. Will develop and execute sales strategies, work closely with Director of Sales to recruit, coach and train, and retain top talent, and must be an outstanding leader and teacher. Must be well organized and a long range planner and thinker and work well with the broader management team. Will be heavily involved in the ad community, possess an in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of online advertising, and be able to develop strong relationships with top advertisers to develop new business.
