Looking Into a Bubble

Barry Diller never minces words, and in his Q4 conference call yesterday, he branded the current Internet sector activity as a bubble...he does plan to make more acquisitions this year, but wouldn't buy on inflated valuations. "We are on our way into a new bubble, and bubbles eventually get pricked," Diller said. "This growth will also produce an endless number of brainless ideas, short-term greed, ridiculous valuations, investor speculation and all the other lovely horrors we've so quickly forgotten."

Another journo friend of mine Om Malik pointed to the return of parties in Silicon Valley, in a post last week. And then, the social networking space, which Bill Burnham, general partner at Softbank Capital Partners thinks is bit of flim-flam. "People have we not learned from past four years,” he said in this post pointed by Om.

For me, all the better...more fun things for me to cover, after writing depressing stories on layoffs left, right and center...
