A SCIENTIST WALKS INTO A BAR…

While the DOD is working on un-manned travel pods to further its benign world domination aims, scientists on this side of the Atlantic (erm, aim your monitor eastward…erm, towards Europe) are using their powers to solve life’s greater mysteries. Do Guinness bubbles sink? The answer, as any member of the Conroy clan from County Kildare will tell ya, is: “Jeez, yeah. Now buy yer man a pint!”

The University of Edinburgh’s School of Chemistry proved the tiny (brown) bubbles flow down – not up. While we’re on the topic of Guinness, one should never drink the last half-gulp’s worth that collects at the bottom of the glass. And never, never opt for the Guinness Extra Cold. A little service journalism from your friends at The Standard in the run-up to St. Patrick’s Day. And, more importantly, you now have a ready-made chat-up line for that inebriated co-worker you’ve been fancying since the office Xmas party. Don’t let Uncle Arthur down.
